In addition to producing large amounts of beer dregs during the beer brewing process, breweries also generate some waste beer yeast. This waste yeast contains rich nutrients and can be reused after processing. Beer yeast is widely used as a feed additive and has been extensively applied in animal husbandry. Feed yeast contains various nutritional elements that can promote the growth of poultry and livestock and enhance their disease resistance. It is an environmentally friendly green trace element additive with no pollution; recycling yeast using a yeast dryer has objective economic, environmental, and social benefits. The common method for breweries to process waste yeast is mechanical drying. Zhengzhou Dingli has developed a yeast dryer to meet this need.
The main components of the Dingli beer yeast dryer include a drying drum, frame, transmission system, scraper device, material limiter, impregnation device, and steam passage system. This machine is a dryer that heats the material and vaporizes moisture through indirect conduction heating, using steam for heating. The drying drum is a metal hollow cylinder with a processed outer surface that is extremely smooth. Driven by the transmission device, the drying drum rotates along its axis with adjustable speed. The slurry is preheated in a preheating tank to approximately 50°C and then pumped into the impregnation tank at the lower part of the drying drum. The depth to which the drying drum is immersed in the slurry is about 60-80 millimeters. As the drying drum rotates, its outer surface is uniformly coated with a layer of slurry. The slurry is heated on the outer wall, and the vaporized moisture is discharged via an exhaust fan. After the drying drum completes one full rotation, the material is dried and scraped off as flakes by scrapers on the outer wall of the drying drum, then falls into the discharge port for collection.
